Jumbo Tankby Astral Industries Limited

Why Jumbo

Built to outlast the sun.

A tank is bought once and judged for years. What follows is what goes into a Jumbo Tank, and what the double-layer wall is actually for.

Why Jumbo

Two layers. Two different jobs.

Every Jumbo plastic tank is moulded as a double-layer wall, each layer doing a different job. Hover either one below and the diagram picks it out of the cut.

Tank wall, cut through

  • Outer layer

Black, for UV protection and weather resistance

UV stabilised, so the wall keeps its strength under the Kenyan sun — and opaque, which is what keeps algae from taking hold inside. This is the layer you see, and the one that takes the knocks.

  • Inner layer

White virgin material, food grade and anti-algae

Virgin material, not regrind — the only surface your water touches. Smooth enough that residue has nowhere to sit, and bonded to the outer layer during moulding rather than glued on afterwards.

    Know More

Two layers. Two jobs. One strong tank.

  • Air ventilation

Vented so the tank breathes as water moves in and out.

  • Food grade

Non-toxic inner surface for household water storage.

  • UV stabilisation

The outer wall is built to sit in direct sun.

  • Built stronger

Two bonded layers instead of one moulded wall.

  • Low maintenance

A smooth interior keeps routine cleaning simple.
